The Marshalls World of Sport Stella Royal 2019 will be held on Sunday 3 March 2019. The race starts and finishes at Stella Athletic Club in the suburb of Glenwood, Durban, and there is both a 10km and 25km option. Stella Athletic club is situated at 175 Helen Joseph (Davenport Rd), Durban. The race follows an undulating route through the suburbs of Glenwood and Umbilo and is great training for those running Comrades!

25km run @ 5:00am
10km run/walk @ 5:30am

Cost:
25km run: R150 (late entries R160)
10km run/walk: R120 (late entries R140)

Entries:
Online entries on the Event Timing website, close on 25 February 2019. Manual entries can be made at Durban Runner Morningside and Glenwood. Late entries 2 March 2019 10:00-16:00 at Stella Athletic Club. Regret, no t-shirts for late entries.

The 25km route:

25km Route

The 25km race is a two-lap race.

Two undulating laps of the Glenwood and Umbilo suburbs run in an anti-clockwise direction. For the majority of the route the athletes will be moving in the same direction as the traffic flow, except where it is otherwise noted in this course description.

The start is in Bulwer Road adjacent to the Stella Clubhouse, outside the Earthmother organic food shop. Proceed in a northerly direction, turn left into Clark Road and then turn left into Manning Road. Proceed along Manning Road until Francois Road.  Cross over Francois Road into Baines Road, into Fielden Drive, right into Levenhall Rd and over Oliver Lea Drive, straight into Bottomley Road, around Umbilo Park, left into Bottomley Rd, and onto Bartle Road. Follow Bartle Rd and straight into Frere Road and then left into Clark Road to complete the first lap. The second lap is the same as the first (until the Frere Road/McDonald Road intersection) Clark Road, Manning Road, Francois Road, Baines Road, Fielden Drive, Oliver Lea Drive, Bottomley Road, Bartle Road, Frere Road and then left into McDonald Road. Proceed up on the left-hand side of McDonald Road until the intersection with Brand Road. At this point cross over to the right-hand side of the island, facing the traffic until Bath Road. Proceed down Bath Road, turn left into Ebor Road, right into Davenport Road and then left into the Stella Athletic Club fields.

The 10km route:

10km Route

The 10km race follows the first lap of the 25km route until the race crosses over Queen Mary Drive. Then take the first left into Hutchinson, and right Selbourne Rd, turn in Selbourne, right into Stellawood Rd and left into Bartle Rd, into Frere Rd. Follow Frere Rd until the intersection at McDonald Rd, cross over and go left up McDonald Rd facing the traffic until Bath Rd.  Proceed down Bath Road, turn left into Ebor Road, right into Davenport Road and then left into the Stella Athletic Club fields.
